The app is in Spanish for now, so its screens are quoted as they appear in it. If you write in English, we reply in English.
The app and your account
How much does it cost?
Nothing, for everything the app is: your dishes, planning the week, the shopping list, the diary and the widget. The only thing with a monthly allowance is the artificial intelligence — recognising a dish from a photo and importing a recipe — because each use costs us money. The free allowance is shown in Tú → La IA este mes. cocínala Plus raises it to 200 photos and 100 recipes a month: €2.99 a month or €19.99 a year, and the yearly plan starts with a 14-day free trial. The app shows the exact price before you buy.
Can I use it without an account?
Yes. The whole app works without signing up. An account is for one thing: getting your recipe book back on another iPhone. Without it, your dishes are tied to this phone. Whenever you want, Tú → Cuenta → Guardar mi recetario en una cuenta, with Apple, Google or GitHub.
I changed iPhone and my dishes are gone
If you saved your recipe book to an account, sign in with it: on the first screen, Ya tengo cuenta, or in Tú → Cuenta → ¿Ya tienes cuenta? Entrar. Signing in leaves behind any dishes already on this phone, and the app warns you. If you never saved it, the recipe book was tied to the old phone: write to us and we will look, but we cannot promise to get it back.
How do I delete my account or my data?
From the app: Tú → Cuenta → Borrar la cuenta deletes everything — dishes, plans, shopping list, photos and the account — and cannot be undone. Borrar mis datos empties the dishes and plans and keeps the account. Both work for people using the app without signing up too. If you cannot get into the app, write to us from the email you signed in with and we do it for you.
Deleting the account does not cancel cocínala Plus: the subscription belongs to your Apple account and is cancelled from there, as explained below.
cocínala Plus
How do I cancel the subscription?
Apple bills it, so it is cancelled with Apple: on the iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions → cocínala, or from the app in Tú → Gestionar suscripción. You keep Plus until the end of the period you already paid for, and you are not charged again. If you cancel during the 14-day trial, nothing is charged.
I want a refund
App Store refunds are decided by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com with the Apple account that paid.
I pay for Plus but the app treats me as free
Plus goes with your Apple account; your recipe book, with your cocínala account. If you signed out or signed in with another account, Tú says «Tu Plus está en otra cuenta» and offers Pasarlo a esta. On a new iPhone, or if nothing shows up, open Tú → cocínala Plus → Restaurar compras. It can move from one account to another up to three times a month. If that still does not do it, write to us with the purchase date.
The AI, photos and recipes
The photo recognised the wrong dish
It happens: spaghetti with chicken can come back as «with salmon». Correct the name on the result screen and the app redoes the whole card — ingredients included — from what you said, so the shopping list does not ask for salmon. And check the quantities before saving: the AI suggests, you decide.
The shopping list asks for too little
The list adds up each recipe exactly as it is on its card, and every dish starts out as one serving, including the ones the AI fills in. Open the dish and set its servings and quantities to what you actually cook; the list recalculates on its own.
What happens to the recipes I import?
They stay in your recipe book and nowhere else: they are not published or shared with other users. The link, the caption and, if needed to get the steps, the post's video are sent to the AI only to build your card, and the app asks you before the first time. The recipe still belongs to whoever published it; what you keep is your own copy for cooking at home.
Sharing from Instagram or TikTok does nothing
When you share, cocínala saves the link and sends a notification so you can open it; if you did not allow notifications, open the app by hand and the recipe will be waiting. From TikTok's website, sometimes the page arrives instead of the video: copy the video's link and paste it in Tus platos → + → Pegar un enlace. That screen works for any website and for a recipe as text.
What do you do with my photos and my data?
It is all on the privacy page: what we store, where, what is sent to the AI and how to delete all of it.
