Privacy

The short version: your dishes are yours, we do not sell them or share them with other users, and you can delete all of it from inside the app. The long version is below.

What we store

• Your dishes: name, category, ingredients, servings and, if present, calories and carbohydrates.
• Your weekly plans and what you ate each day.
• Your shopping list, including what you tick off and what you add by hand.
• The photos you take of your dishes.
• Your account: an identifier and, if you connect Apple, Google or GitHub, the email address that provider gives us. You can use the app without an account.

We do not ask for your real name, phone number, address or payment details. The app is free and has no advertising.

Where it lives

On Supabase, with servers in the European Union (Ireland). Every row carries your identifier, and the database enforces rules that stop one account from reading another's data. Photos go to private storage: there is no public address from which they can be viewed.

Photos and artificial intelligence

When you photograph a dish, that image is sent to OpenRouter, which routes it to the model that recognises the food, along with the names and categories of your saved dishes so it can tell you whether it is one of them. That is the only moment a photo leaves your account, and the only purpose it is used for.

Our account is configured not to use providers that train on what is sent to them. That setting is the reason we ruled out a cheaper model that was only available by accepting the opposite.

We do not send your email address or your identifier to the model: only the image and the list of dish names.

Analytics

We use PostHog, in its European region, to learn things like how many people finish adding their dishes or how often the camera is used. We only measure what the database does not already record, and never the content: we do not know which dishes you have or what you eat.

You can turn it off: You → Share usage data.

What we do NOT do

• We do not sell or hand over your data to anyone.
• There is no advertising and no third-party trackers.
• There is no social side: no other user can see your dishes, your plan or your photos.

How to delete everything

From the app: You → Account → Delete account. Your dishes, plans, shopping list, rules, profile and photos are deleted, and the account is removed. It cannot be undone and no copy is kept.

If you would rather start over without losing the account, You → Account → Delete my data empties your dishes and plans.

Children

cocínala is not directed at children under 14 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Your rights

You can access and delete your data from within the app. For anything else — correcting something, taking it with you, or just asking — write to soporte@cocinala.app and we will reply.

Changes

If this changes, the date at the top changes. If a change affects what we do with your data, we will say so in the app.
